Hello ... I am Chantal
I was born in South Africa, and live on the outskirts of Crawley, West Sussex with my husband, 2 daughters, and 2 dogs.
I came over to England after spending 2 years in Houston, Texas
Au-Pairing, supporting a family with their 3 children.
Arriving in England in 1995, I soon met my husband, and we got married in 1998. We had our first daughter in 2000 and second in 2003 and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, experiencing the highs and lows of motherhood. I love being a mom and as our daughters became young adults, it has allowed me to focus on supporting others.
- I had positive pregnancies and births with the knowledge I had at the time. Since then, I have found birth very interesting and I have learned so much through my research, working with professionals, and supporting pregnant people, experiencing birth alongside them. Knowledge is power and I fully embrace people’s choice of where they choose to birth their baby. I listen and provide relative research, so you feel informed and empowered when making your birth decisions.
- In 2015 I joined a friend and supported her with setting up a ‘Hub’ for parents, which involved support for new parents and various activities for their children.
- It was at this stage that I started retraining, and gaining the skills in supporting families.
- Firstly, I trained as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter and have been an active Peer Supporter since 2018.
- I then went on to do my Birth and Postnatal Doula training in 2019 along with becoming a Hypnobirthing Instructor in the same year. In 2020 I did a Biomechanics Workshop, gaining knowledge regarding the pelvis and how different techniques may assist labour. In 2024 I started learning about deTORRA essential oils, and have started using them within my family and when supporting pregnancy and birth. In June 2024 I will be training in their AromaTOUCH massage which I will start offering to clients.
- Having all these skills helps with supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Each client I work with, needs less or enhanced support in different areas, so by having my experience and ongoing learning, I’m able to meet your needs.
- With my daughters being grown up and independent, I’m able to ensure my commitment to you, providing continuity of care and establishing a relationship where you feel secure and heard.
